Kiln Dried Hardwood Logs
This is a premium firewood product that has been kiln dried to provide the best possible burning performance.
Kindling & Firelighters
Our kindling is split down from kiln dried softwood to provide a great quality kindling that will get your fire lit first time. Softwood makes the best kindling as the natural resins and lighter density help it to ignite. Softwood kindling also produces a short lived but fierce flame that helps your main fuel source logs to catch fire.
Smokeless Solid Fuel
Smokeless Solid Fuel can be used in multi-fuel stoves and open fires, and is also permissible to use in a smokeless zone such as Derby. Using a small amount of smokeless solid fuel in a multi-fuel stove or open fire mixed with seasoned wood can produce some good stove results. The smokeless fuel has a very long burn time and helps to keep some core heat in the fire-box or base of an open fire.
Heat Logs

Heat logs provide a very clean and compact, high calorific output fuel source. The moisture content of our heat logs is extremely low, typically below 10%. Even the best quality kiln dried firewood logs have a moisture content of 10-15%. The manufacturing process applies the same high pressure to each briquette ensuring that a consistent high density is achieved with each heat log. Essentially, with a heat log having a lower moisture content, you are getting more wood material (the fuel) per kilogram and therefore more fuel for your money, and compressed into a smaller volume.
It’s worth remembering that with heat logs, the wood type does not necessarily make a huge difference to performance, unlike with traditional firewood logs. For example, the main difference between birch and oak with traditional firewood logs is the density of the native wood. When using these woods to manufacture heat logs, the wood material is in sawdust form and is subject to the same high pressure, therefore removing the density variable.
Each of these products work well when used alone but better results can be achieved trying different combinations, either with both types of heat logs, or mixed with traditional firewood. As with all solid fuel advice, it’s a case of experimenting and finding out what works best in your appliance. Remember that a good looking flame doesn’t always necessarily lead to the highest heat output, good red hot embers can produce the best heat but may not always offer the nice visual appeal of a dancing flame.
Loose Tipped Loads (Off-peak only)
As a more economical method of supply, during off-peak periods only, we are able to offer loose tipped loads of kiln dried firewood tipped direct on your property. This is available in half (1.5m³ ) or full (3m³) loads, equivalent to approx. 2.5 or 5 bulk bags. Our timber is UK sourced from sustainably managed forests and processed into firewood and kiln dried at our facility near Pontefract. Like all our other kiln dried wood this is dried to an average moisture content of 15%, ensuring a high-quality firewood product that will produce a clean burn in your wood burner or open fire. As logs come off our processing plant they are run through a riddling unit to remove splinters and chips that are generated in the splitting process, ensuring that you receive good sized logs. Prices will include delivery within our standard delivery area. Our loose hardwood logs are a mixture of species including ash, beech oak and sycamore.
Prices include 5% fuel duty that is charged on solid fuels.
Please note that a loose tipped load will be tipped from our vehicle onto your property at the closest point achievable by our driver to your required location. We are unable to tip onto highways, pavements or byways. We reserve the right to apply a delivery charge if a suitable tipping area is not provided and we are unable to make the delivery.
Chips & Scraps
Fancy a bargain? We are now offering bulk bags of random chips & scraps of kiln dried hardwood that we wouldn’t be able to classify as ‘logs’. Although our new state of the art log processing plant is highly efficient at turning large diameter tree trunks into cut, split hardwood logs, there are always some chips, splinters and oddly shaped bits of wood that are produced. The majority of these are rejected automatically by our processing plant with further pieces separated out when our logs are hand sorted for packing. All of this material has been through our drying facility and due to most of it being of smaller size to our logs, is exceptionally dry.
What you are getting is a bit of a lucky dip bulk bag of bits & bobs that we wouldn’t want to sell you as logs but can still provide an effective and economical wood fuel. Some of it you will be able to use as kindling, or it can be used to supplement your normal logs. You could even use it as your main wood fuel source if you don’t mind feeding your fire or stove more often. These bags are 100% clean kiln dried hardwood, they are not floor sweepings and won’t contain bits of grit or other items that you wouldn’t want to put through your stove. There will be some bark present, but this is perfectly ok to burn.
